We began to get ready to create this site by doing some research about Compliments. We used the following videos to learn more about compliments, how they affect us, and how we deal with them:

Things we learned about compliments:

Compliments should be Genuine and Meaningful.
Receiving a compliment can change your attitude.
Compliments can boost your self-esteem.
A stranger might not accept the compliment you give them.
You can be “Hug Happy” when you get a compliment from someone you know and it isn’t sarcastic (more likely to believe it).
Too many compliments might not be good (you might get a big head).
It's important to accept compliments.
Compliments affect the same part of the brain as if you received money.
Compliments and accepting them can help you sleep.
Fewer compliments lead to increased sadness & anger and less self-esteem.
More compliments lead to greater success
When there is a lack of compliments in society, there are increased in sicide, war, and hate.
The giver of a compliment is viewed as a nice person.
You feel better when you give a compliment.
